Basic Personality: Haku is, above everything else, a kind person. He is so thoroughly kind that it almost seems impossible, but he sincerely cares for people. Animals. Everything. However, he isn't a saint. When he comes to care for a person, he will do so with his entire being -- to the point where it can be almost frightening. He would do anything for someone he is loyal to, especially if it is to protect them. When he loves someone, he will do so to the extent where he can lose his sense of self as well as any value for himself that would go beyond that other person. This is the somewhat scary side of Haku, but it is hidden well, as he doesn't allow himself to care that deeply for just anyone.
To most people, he is polite, calm, and very well mannered. Despite his occupation, he presents himself with class and grace to others, and though he isn't well liked, he does not go out of his way to disturb people. He is generous with what little he has, and would not hesitate to help a person in need, though Haku does not take kindly to being taken advantage of. His temper, once provoked, is a cold, dangerous one, so it's best not to try him.
Background: Haku arrived in Neis tattered and bloody, and with absolutely no recollection of how he arrived or had gotten that way. Naturally, he was disturbed, and suffering from a good deal of blood loss at the time. He passed out, and the next thing he knew, he woke in an unfamiliar home, his wounds dressed, utterly alone. Disoriented and slightly panicked, Haku slipped out of the bed and would have left had his "savior" not come home just then.
He was a tall, effeminate man, and by all counts, he was the sort of person you could trust. He won Haku over relatively quickly, and nursed him back to perfect health, save for the rather unsightly scar marring his chest. Eager for some way to repay the man's kindness, Haku agreed to go to Jade with him and seek employment there.
At thirteen years old, Haku had no idea what he was getting into.
It turns out that things weren't exactly as they appeared, and the man who rescued him was, in fact, the owner of a shady establishment that catered to adults. It wasn't quite as bad as it could have been -- he only insisted Haku become an exotic dancer -- but that was just professionally.
They lived together, and personally, their relationship evolved to beyond platonic. Despite the man's shady business and his preference for underage males, Haku never held any malice toward him, and grew to love him, in his own way. He was never in love with the man, but he found a comfortable existence with him. That all changed when they were followed back to their humble home.
People hadn't liked Haku from the beginning, knowing there was something off about the boy as well as factoring in his occupation, and so they decided to do something about it. Haku and the man were attacked, and for his own safety, Haku was pushed away.
The man didn't know that Haku could fight. Haku didn't really know that he could fight. It all happened so quickly that he wasn't aware he had attacked them all until it was over, and their bodies were flung across the snow, riddled with icicles and growing impossibly cold.
There wasn't a drop of blood on Haku, but somehow, he knew he had done it. However, tears wouldn't come, even though he had killed someone that he cared for. Instead, he simply stood, gathered himself, and went back to the village. He reported the deaths, and because he was already mistrusted, he was of course blamed. No one could prove that he had killed them, however, and so the investigation halted. Haku continued on as he has always been, only alone, and there haven't been murmurs of any more deaths.
However, no one is easy around Haku, even still.
Listed weapons and magical abilities: Haku is a very adept fighter. He could -- and has -- killed people before they were given the proper time to even realize he was a threat in the past, but because he is naturally a gentle person, he despises killing. Now that he is in Neis and has no memories of his past, his will to murder is nonexistent, and he will only defend himself if attacked. When forced, he will incapacitate someone, but the thought of hurting other people is something that he can't stand. Unless, of course, it means protecting someone he loves. In that case, Haku will go any lengths.
He actually has a bloodline limit called Hyoutan that allows him to create and manipulate ice, but he does not know how to control it. It seems the only time he is able to access this power is when he becomes truly angry, and so he viciously controls his temper at all costs. However, he is able to use ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu... though mostly taijutsu. It's almost instinctual to control his chakra, but he shies away from it.
